Nancy,

This year we had over 50 North Star nominations. It was very tough for the judges to pick the finalists as all the nominees were truly STARS!

You were nominated this year for a North Star award, and we wanted to be sure you got to see what was submitted. Thank you for all the GOOD you do!

Name: Nancy Finn

I am honored to nominate Nancy Finn for the North Star Award, as her unwavering spirit, exceptional teamwork, positive attitude, and outstanding results truly exemplify what it means to be a leader at CHS. This year, Nancy has led several community efforts, most notably the Summer Reading Program, which equips parents with the skills to nurture their children’s love for reading. Collaborating with community partners such as the Mandel Library of West Palm Beach and the UB Kinsey Educational Center, Nancy spearheaded our six-week summer reading program that has now evolved into an ongoing monthly partnership with UBK Education Center. This collaboration not only enhances reading skills but also includes computer literacy sessions for the children of the families we serve. What truly sets Nancy apart is her meticulous and intentional planning, ensuring that every initiative aligns with the goals of Bridges at West Palm Beach. She carefully considers how each program can address the specific needs of our families, integrating feedback from parents and partners to create meaningful, impactful experiences.

Additionally, Nancy has consistently met her site goals regarding ASQ (Ages and Stages Questionnaire) requirements, demonstrating her commitment to early childhood development and ensuring that the children we serve receive the best support possible. Nancy consciously supports our team in our mission to serve families, offering guidance and encouragement to staff just beginning their journey in social services. Her commitment to building trusting relationships with families ensures they feel comfortable receiving instruction for their children’s development. Known and respected by parents throughout her nearly 15 years at the Children’s Home Society, Nancy has served in various roles—including Human Resources, Site Navigator, Parent Educator, and currently as a Child Development Specialist. Each position has equipped her with the skills and insights to make a significant impact on our community. The increase in engagement and positive feedback from families is a testament to her dedication and the lasting relationships she cultivates. Nancy’s work not only uplifts those she serves but also inspires her colleagues to strive for excellence. Her remarkable contributions and steadfast commitment make her an outstanding candidate for the North Star Award, shining brightly as a guiding light for our organization and the community we serve.
